Aren’t You Your Own Boss?
It would seem that working from home would come to us naturally.
We have all done school assignments at home; most salaried employees
do at least some after-hours work at home, and then there’s
home management – writing checks, preparing taxes, and handling
email – that’s work, too. When we began working at
home in 1974, we quickly realized that it presented us with some
new challenges we hadn’t run into before.
We searched for information everywhere – bookstores, the
Small Business Administration, magazines. What little we could
find written for “small businesses” didn’t fit.
We didn’t need lessons about store location or hiring salespeople
and other employees.
Back in those days, there were no personal computers and Internet
for quickly researching the answers to our problems. Thus we had
a learning curve and made our share of mistakes, like when a neighbor
came by with something to tell us about homeowner association
restrictions. People began to ask us about how we did it –
they loved the idea of working at home. So we decided to write
a how-to book for what we believed would be a rapidly growing
number of people who wanted to work from home.
Because we love doing things together even though we had different
at home careers (Sarah, a psychotherapist and Paul, a political
consultant), we decided to write the book together. Now fifteen
books later, we can honestly say that working from home and working
together has helped us to create a simple and good life for ourselves.
Working From Home was the first of a series of books
in which we’ve covered many key aspects of self-employment
and working from home. Yet along comes Kristie Tamsevicius with
her own viewpoint, raising issues that are worth knowing about and
considering.
For example, Kristie tells you how to:
-
Create a powerful online presence for your
business
-
Monitor and manage your business financials
-
Promote and publicize your business on the
Internet
-
Develop a model for future business growth
-
Develop a “while you sleep” passive
income to build your profits
Kristie has provided a practical and useful book
for navigating the home business waters.
Like us, Kristie is committing her working life
to supporting the growth and development of home-based businesses.
It’s refreshing and inspiring to see her commitment and willingness
to share her insights to help other people make it on their won.
Working from home is a good life, and soon you will share it,
too.
